Water again threatens us

West and South of Ukraine may suffer from high rise in water level.

If the situation does not change for the better, the flood will "cross" the borders of Ukraine – TSN reported. 

"We expect that by the end of June we will feel the consequences of flooding in Europe: the Danube will overflow the banks and the water level will reach the critical mark", – the head of hydroforecast department of the Ukrainian Meteorological Center Victoria Boyko says.

Residents of flooded settlements in Ukraine have already started to prepare for the big water.

"We keep rubber boots always at hand, almost every family has a boat – a resident of the village of Vilkovo in Odesa region Olena Smirnova said. – We are not scared of summer floods – the water quickly goes through the channels. But it would be a pity to lose the harvest."

Residents of Lviv region are more concerned. Five years ago, the Carpathian region was affected by the flood, and now there is a great fear of the water.

"If Europe has been flooded, then the disaster will soon come to us. In spring we always have inflatable boats and cans at hand – in case we have to escape to the attic," – a resident of the village of Hirske in Mykolayiv district Oksana Struk said.

"The worst thing is when the rivers break their banks. We have prepared a hundred bags and a couple of trucks with sand. Although this will not stop the flood", – Igor Kovalchuk says.

Earlier it was reported that flooding in central Europe has claimed 10 lives.
