Uzhgorod lights: clumsy multimedia

Finally they have started to connect famous light-pointers to electricity supply, although, currently only one is connected – where the Korzo meets Nezalezhnist embankment. Finally, it works! – the picture under that title was posted on facebook by the smith Oleksandr Bezyk, who made the streetlights designed by Mykhailo Kolodko.

Recall – all light-pointers, that are installed at key points in the historical center of Uzhgorod, are supposed to be multimedia: in a literal sense to tell and show the history of the city. However, although all four units were installed in October last year, the city government, despite promises, failed to connect them to electricity supply.

In the mayor’s office they promised to help with the connection of electricity in the summer of 2012. By the way, light-pointers are a gift to Uzhgorod from the initiators of the project, and the city spent not a single penny on it…

But it seems that the "ice has been broken" – the first light works.   The rest are waiting for their turn. So, we are waiting for multimedia. Nevertheless, tourists eagerly take pictures near the streetlights and use information from the signs…
