The one who designed the “Prosvita” and the “Urania” (PHOTOS)

June 20 at the "Uzhgorod" gallery, the exhibition of architect Ludwig Oelschlaeger (1896-1984), a prominent personality of Košice – European Capital of Culture, opened. The hall accomodates photographs of his projects that have been implemented in Transcarpathian region as well as in the author’s home country.

He designed buildings of the Trading Academy in Mukachevo (1924), the Jewish school and the Public building in Uzhgorod (1926), Public and residential buildings for Police in Vynogradiv. His creative idea was realized in the People’s House of "Prosvita" with the "Urania" cinema (1927), the shelter for Jewish orphans in Mukachevo (1926), etc. ..

The exhibition was attended by the General Consul of the Slovak Republic in Uzhgorod Janka Buryanova, senior consul of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod Janos Vishki, the Deputy Head of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Andriy Serbaylo, the head of the Regional State Administration Department of Culture Yuri Gleba, the Head of the Transcarpathian National Union of Artists of Ukraine Boris Kuzma, etc. ..

The curators of the exhibition are Petro Pastor and Andriana Priatkova.

The exhibition was held with the support of the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhgorod and the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod.

Th exhibition will continue for 2 weeks.
