Last year, the water killed 37 people in our region, this year – nine. This was announced by the head of the Office of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region Miroslav Shcherbey.
He says: "the key to safety is the availability of official locations for swimming." He recognizes that there are problems with that: only 8 sites of mass water recreation in Transcarpathia have appropriate records and passports. Their geography is quite interesting – 6 beaches are in Tyachiv district, one in Khust district, one in Beregovo district and one in Vynogradiv district. Rescuers advise to rest in "Eden" (Tyachiv district), the "Siloam bathing" lake in Khust district, "Boomerang" (Beregovo district, known as the lake in Didovo) and "Black Mountain" in Vynogradiv district.
