At the City Council they talked about waterproof structures

On Wednesday, June 19, the Deputy Mayor Vitaly Semal gathered for a meeting representatives of departments and offices of the City Council to discuss the state of water control structures in the city.

Dams were inspected during the previous - on-site - meeting. And at the second one they started considering proposals for the preservation and improvement of their condition.

They suggested to ban transport traffic on waterproof structures, to increase the height of the mound to 50-70 cm, to mow grass along the dikes to facilitate inspections in the future. Also there were comments on the buildings located on dams.

Particular attention was paid to the waterproof structure in the "Radvanka" neighborhood which is known to be inhabited by Roma nationality. Representative of the Housing Office number 4 (it serves the neighborhood) said that people there disregard any rules and build various structures on the dam without authorization. Vitaly Semal said that city officials would meet with representatives of Roma minority in order to settle the situation.
