Wi-Fi will not be taxed. Yet

The Ministry of Income assured that the "tax on Wi-Fi" is not introduced, but they do not rule out it in the future

The Ministry of income and charges is ready to consider the feasibility of strengthening measures to control import of devices with Wi-Fi, the Minister of income and charges Oleksandr Klymenko said.

This is was reported by the Censor.NET referring to Ukrainian News

"We will study the documents and then we will give our opinion," - he said.

Recall that the day before a number of media reported that the National Commission of Communications Regulation (NCCR) initiates the introduction of a fee for importation of gadgets that support Wi-Fi.

Now, devices with Wi-Fi module can be imported to Ukraine without a license from Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies. If NCCR initiative is supported, the importers will be required to obtain a license, which will cost 10 UAH per one device.

The tax will be paid on importing tablets, PCs, wireless keyboards and mice, 3D-glasses, printers, webcams, monitors and other devices equipped with a Wi-Fi module.
