The Mayor wants to set charge for entry to the center of Uzhgorod by car

Today, the Mayor thanked journalists for recording violators of parking rules that leave their cars on the sidewalks and in green areas.

Victor Pogorelov said that he not only encourages the City Hall employee to photograph violators. He also instructs employees of the City Council to record license plates of cars parked on Koryatovich square, near the market (where, as you know, almost all roadway is blocked by parked cars) and identify their owners. "I am sure that we will find dozens of residents of nearby villages who come to the market and leave their cars there" – Pogorelov said.

"We will expand the pedestrian zone and put barriers, and will collect the toll for entrance to this area: if they park cars there, they will have to pay as much as the city council determines."

People do not want to pay or walk a bit – they leave their cars anywhere and do not use parking lots – the mayor complains. If there is the entry fee, then maybe they will finally stop driving on main streets of the city, and will leave the cars outside of the city limits – the mayor hopes.
