The "Grieving Mother" will blossom (PHOTOS)
Right now, utility workers are working at the "Grieving Mother" monument, which was established in honor of the victims in Afghanistan and wars in other states on Pravoslavna embankment in Uzhgorod.
They have brought earth by the truck, and now they are putting it in three niches for flower beds, that had long been overgrown with weeds. Answering our question about who gave the order to do so, one of the workers said, "The mayor gave an order." He also said that they planned to plant flowers there.
This is good news, because now Uzhhorod does not bloom as before, it has become covered in asphalt and concrete. I do not recall that flower beds ever bloomed even at the above-mentioned "Grieving Mother". It would be nice if the Mayor gave another order - to renovate dilapidated steps leading to the monument which are just crumbling.
