The fountain on Poshtova square will not cost the city a penny - the Mayor
They are ready to revive the fountain on Poshtova square. This "reincarnation" will cost the city budget nothing - the Mayor Victor Pogorelov said.
They have already removed the soil from the structure that was conceived as a place for the fountain during the design and construction of the square.
In the mid 90's, they turned the fountain into a flower bed by filling it with earth, because pipes flooded the basement ov the City Hall, - the mayor said. Now, they decided to restore it. They will lay new pipes, put the water pump and the chamber, and lay concrete on the bottom. All this will be done by "people who want to do it for the city," - the mayor said, emphasizing that no budget funds would be used.
As for the fountain in the rock garden, where the works continue, the mayor said that there is a damaged bottom there. Recall, that it works on "closed loop", so to avoid losses, they are reparing it.
