Rain did not put out the “Lemkivska Vatra” (PHOTOS)

July 14, in the village of Kostryno in Velyky Berezny district there was a traditional festival "Lemkivska Vatra".

The official part began with the meeting of local Lemko and visitors who came from other regions and even from neighboring countries. The Acting Head of Velyky Berezny District State Administration Vadim Shelemon assured: "We will get together, we will sing, so that our children remember us." The solemn mission of starting a bonfire was performed by members of official delegations, including the Deputy Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Ivan Kachur, the Head of the Transcarpathian Regional Organization of the All-Ukrainian "Lemko" Association Vasyl Mulesa, the chairman of the control committee of the World Federation of Ukrainian Lemko Organizations Igor Duda and other serious guests.  

Afterwards, the stage was "occupied" by folklore performers not only from Velyky Berezny district, but also from Perechyn and Irshava districts, and the dancers. Here, at the festival, there was the exhibition of Lemko folk crafts – embroidered shirts, tablecloths, articles of wood.
