Prosecutors check Uzhgorod utilities

Prosecutors of Uzhgorod completed two criminal proceedings on the fact of non-payment of wages to employees of public enterprises of the city.

The head of the ME "Uzh-energy", in the period from October to December 2012 unreasonably failed to pay wages totaling over 500,000 UAH to 84 employees. During the pre-trial investigation, the pecuniary damage was repaid in full.

A similar violation of the law on wages was committed by the former acting director of the public utility "Uzh-light" who in the period from January and February 2013 intentionally failed to pay salaries totaling almost 35,000 UAH.

In addition, the press service of the city prosecutor’s office reported, it was revealed that the former deputy director of the KP "Misksvitlo", abusing his authority, for selfish motives, during 2011, was drawing up fictitious reports of construction works acceptance. That is, he indicated in the reports knowingly false information about the extra cost of purchasing fuel and lubricants, totaling over 103,000 UAH.

These criminal proceedings are pending in Uzhgorod District Court.
