On the illegal seizure of land in Khust district

Khust Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office provide procedural guidance and supervise the pre-trial investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated under Part 1 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized occupation of land, which caused significant damage to its rightful owner or holder - punishable by a fine of two hundred to three hundred tax-free minimum incomes, or arrest for a term of up to six months).

 Thus, in 2011, during the inspection of the Khust City Council land by the Commission, it was found out that residents of Kraynya st. in Khust illegally occupied the land of ​​almost 1 hectare in area, thus causing Khust city council material damage totaling over 400,000 UAH.  Therefore, Khust City Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region initiated a criminal investigation into the unauthorized occupation of the said land by citizens of Roma nationality.The information about this criminal offense was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations."After the preliminary investigation - Khust Interdistrict Prosecutor Ivan Kailo said - we will be take measures to remove unauthorized buildings from the occupied land. Source: Press office of the Prosecutor of Transcarpathian region
