This week, the regional council working group, established on behalf of the Regional Council Chairman Ivan Baloha analyzed the situation with the state of education in some localities of Rakhiv district. It is composed of members of the regional council from Rakhiv district Hanna Hlukhova and Ivan Biliak, deputy manager of the regional council executive staff Ivan Biben, Yasinya village head Eduard Zelinsky, employees of the regional council executive office.  On Tuesday, representatives of the working group visited the village of Yasinya.

Today in the town council there are five schools and two kindergartens. In total, almost three thousand students go to school there. The most difficult situation is with the Yasinya school number 3.    The building of the school is in ruins. Since 1989, it has not been maintained. This year, Rakhiv District Council decided to dismantle the building.  Some primary school classes are now temporarily housed in the building of the Svydovets forestry.  35 children study in four classrooms there.  Teachers' room is in the hallway. Teachers complain that the school does not have classrooms. The requirements of the Ministry of Education are not observed, because there is no computer equipment.

The community support the idea that children should learn in school, not in adapted premises. Moreover, the problem was announced in the regional media. Instead, the school head teacher and principal were reprimanded for such "liberties". The information that teachers were reprimanded was confirmed by the Acting Head of the Education Department of Rakhiv DSA Vasyl Pekar, who was present during the inspection in Yasinya. However he did not report what teachers took disciplinary action for.

Eduard Zelinsky said that they wanted to close the school last year, but considering the opinion of the community, district authorities refused the idea. "But we have a situation when firs-graders study in the forestry building, and pupils of grades 5-9 - in the building that dates from 1830. There is no pedestrian crossing near the school, the restroom, as in the vast majority of schools in Rakhiv district, is outside. Therefore, the community support the idea of construction of a new school in the village. Given the birth growth rate - last year 178 children were born - this matter is very relevant for Yasinya," - the village head said.

The working group of the Regional Council will review all proposals announced by the local government representatives while working in the village.
