On Wednesday, July 3, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda met with the commercial counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Ukraine Gregor Postl.

         The purpose of the foreign guest's visit to Transcarpathia is a more detailed study of the possibilities of cooperation in the economic sector. Currently, Austria is a country that is among the top ten in terms of investment in Transcarpathian region - there are about 30 companies with Austrian investments here.

         - The Austrian party is satisfied with the business environment in Transcarpathian region.Therefore, we hope for further and more effective cooperation, beneficial both for Austria, and Transcarpathia - Gregor Postl said.

         - Local authorities are working to create jobs, to attract investment - it allows to significantly increase the level of economic development in the region and, consequently, the welfare of local residents. Today, not only in the region but also in Ukraine in general, the creation of favorable investment climate for small and medium businesses is a priority. So, we appreciate cooperation and, I am sure, we will multiply our achievements, - Oleksandr Ledyda said.

         Also, during the meeting they discussed the possibility of cooperation between Transcarpathia and Austria in tourism and recreation sector. According to both parties, Transcarpathia today has the greatest potential in this field.
