In Transcarpathian lake remains of ancient sculptures was found

Lake of Viennese count Shenborn-Bukheim is to be restored by its the historic anniversary - 285 years since the donation of Transcarpathian lands to Franz Lothar Schoenborn by the Emperor of Austria.

As per Mukachevo net during restoration of the Schoenborn family park found the remains of ancient sculptures were found: this is particularly the head of Apostle Luke and bust of Apostle Matthew, the remains of some other destroyed statues, images of which could not be identified.

Recall that now the historical heritage is being recovered in Perechyn district as well as one of the seven man-made lakes of Schönborn. Its contours are reminiscent of Austria-Hungary map in 1867. Currently important preparatory steps have been held, so there is every hope that these works come to an end in September 2013, and currently the lake-pond is cleaned and is being filled with water from mountain streams, contours of historical boundaries are enhanced, part of the island is formed, which has stones brought from the Dalmatian Adriatic, and old water mill is renovated.
