In Transcarpathia, the "Philanthropist of the Year" will be determined (PHOTOS)
In order to solve social problems, disseminate knowledge and best practices of philanthropy in Ukraine, encourage individuals and commercial entities to charity in Transcarpathia, Uzhgorod City Council deputy Yaroslav Shafar proposed Public Council at the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration to conduct the competition "Philanthropist of the Year."
The subject of the competition is awarding and public recognition of philanthropists - corporate (private) bodies and individuals who made charitable and irrevocable contribution to solving the problems of the region.
The organization of the competition will be entrusted to the Public Council at the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and the Organizing committee for the regional competition.
The competition must be annual, to be held in each nomination separately from September 1 to December 1. Its purpose is to identify and reward donors at the regional level for the previous year.
The winners are determined by the Organizing committee by the Day of Charity which is celebrated in Ukraine on the second Sunday of December.
The competition is open to individuals and entities that have provided single or multiple charitable help to solve social problems of the region. Candidates for the competition, with their consent, may be nominated by executive bodies and local authorities, NGOs, charitable foundations, educational, science, culture, health, social protection institutions, any persons who received charity care and philanthropists themselves.
The winners are determined in six categories:
1. Philanthropist of the Year - national business.
2. Philanthropist of the Year - regional business.
3. Philanthropist of the Year - a non-profit organization.
4. Philanthropist of the Year - individual (this nomination includes three award winners).
5. Philanthropist of the Year - rookie philantropist.
6. Philanthropist of the Year - small business.
