A citizen of Hungary tried to carry 180,000 UAH worth of cigarettes

July 21, in the evening, customs officers and border guards prevented an illegal attempt to carry tobacco products beyond the territory of Ukraine. The incident occurred at the crossing point "Luzhanka-Berehshuran" of the customs post "Luzhanka" of the Chop customs. During the customs and border control procedure, a Hungarian citizen did not declare any items prohibited or restricted for export from the customs territory of Ukraine. However, during the in-depth inspection of the car "Mersedes ML 320 CDI", in structural cavities they found more than two thousand packs of Belarusian cigarettes amounting to 180,000 UAH. Experts of the Chop customs drew up a protocol on violation of customs regulations, and the vehicle was seized. The Customs Code of Ukraine provides for liability for this type of offense in the form of fine in the amount of 100% of the cost of the found tobacco products, the confiscation of the same and of the vehicle.
