66 mines of World War II period were neutralized in Transcarpathia

Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region in cooperation with officers of the special rescue unit of the Regional Office of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine defused 66 mortar shells of 82 mm caliber.

The weapons of World War II period were found in the Maidan tract in Volovets district near the road Chop - Kyiv.

The TNT equivalent of these mines is about 40 kg.

The weapons were seized and disposed of.
