The Party of Regions want to introduce 25% tax on deposits

The Party of Regions member Yevhen Sihal proposes Verkhovna Rada to introduce 25% tax on income from deposits of natural persons.

This is stated in the bill number 2401, which was registered in the Parliament on February 26, 2013.

The draft law proposes to amend the Tax Code to introduce the mechanism of imposing 25% tax on income received as interest on current and deposit bank accounts, deposits in non-bank financial institutions, starting from January 1, 2014.

The document author believes that this decision will affect the reduction of commercial banks credit resourses that are granted to the real economy subjects and encourage natural persons to spend money for consumption of goods and services of domestic companies, informed the "Ekonomichna Pravda".
