The book "Transcarpathia. The Pearl in the Heart of Europe" will be published at the expense of public funds

On Tuesday, February 5, the Expert council on the publication of Transcarpathian authors' works considered the application of "Karpaty" publishing house on the release of the full color popular science book "Transcarpathia. The Pearl in the Heart of Europe" within the framework of the Programme for supporting local authors publishing, Transcarpathian books promoting and bookselling facilitating in 2012 - 2014.

 As the director of the publishing house Victor Braslavets informed, they have collected and are editing a significant body of illustrative, text and explanatory information, since the publication will contain about six thousand different photo illustrations. According to him, the publishing house already owns copyright for the large amount of material. Reputable scientists and specialists are involved in the process. The publication will be a kind of encyclopedia of Transcarpathia, chronicle of its history and present.

It is expected that the publication will include sections on natural resources and protected areas, history, architectural monuments, including medieval castles and palaces, sacred architecture, multi-national culture and art of Transcarpathia. Individual paragraphs will be devoted to local government, the development of the national economic complex, medicine, education, border cooperation, tourism, recreation potential, athletic achievements and Olympic prospects of the region. 

The Expert Council supported the proposal of the publishing house "Karpaty" and recommended to form a writing team.
