Arbuzov wants Ukrainians to save their money in hryvnias
The First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov advises Ukrainians to keep their savings in local currency. He said that in an interview to a TV channel, informs "Radio Svoboda".
"Hryvnia has a very good percentage rate on deposit rates. I have already cited the example of the last year: if a person had deposited a hryvnia 7 years ago under the existing interest and not withdrawn it, even the rate fluctuations would not have harmed the capital of that person. Constant changes of the form of saving, unfortunately, bring people only losses," - Arbuzov said.
According to the information provided by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov, the volume of deposits of population in banks in 2012 has increased by almost 60 billion - up to 366 billion hryvnias.
Recall that the World Bank analysts predict that in 2013 hryvnia will devalue to 8.7 UAH per 1 dollar.
As reported, according to analysts of "Erste Bank", the year 2013 will be difficult for the Ukrainian economy - problems in the metallurgic industry are being accumulated, current account deficit is growing, the pressure on the hryvnia is increasing and external liquidity is deteriorating.
