A Transcarpathian winter swimmer found in the Uzh a mortar shell

This incident was reported to the Rescue Service of Transcarpathia on February 9. The man said that he had found in the Uzh river, in the village of Onokivtsi in Uzhgorod district, an object similar to explosive. The rescuers were informed about the dangerous discovery by a local resident who was winter swimming in the river.

A pyrotechnic team of the Special Rescue Unit in Transcarpathian region was immediately sent to the scene. Pyrotechnists took the explosive obbject and later disposed of it at the military firing range.

The object was an 82 mm mortal shell of WWII period.
