Ukraine and Slovakia are developing cooperation in education

Today, the Cabinet of Ministers has passed a resolution to sign the Agreement between the Governments of Ukraine and the Slovak Republic on academic mutual recognition and equivalence of educational documents issued in Ukraine and in the Slovak Republic.

The Agreement will allow Ukraine to expand cooperation with Slovakia in education. The document represents the mutual interests of both parties to deepen the traditional ties and the development of new forms of cooperation, exchanges and contacts in the field of education and in establishing standards of the Mutual Recognition of Diplomas and Degrees.

According to experts, the adoption of such a document will create for citizens of the two countries the conditions for access to educational resources of Ukraine and Slovakia, contribute to their academic mobility, and open new opportunities for employment. Thus, the certificate of secondary, specialized secondary, higher education and scientific degree "Candidate of Sciences" received in Ukraine will be equally recognized in Slovakia and vice versa.

The signing of these agreements will have a positive impact on the prestige of Ukrainian education in Europe, experts say. Diplomas of Slovak universities are governed by regulations of the European Union, therefore they are equally highly prized in Europe and beyond.
