In Mukachevo district, a man robbed his grandmother

A 70-year-old resident of Mukachevo reported to Mukachevo city police about the disappearance of the money from the credit card and household utensils. The old woman lamented, because 3000 UAH had disappeared from her credit card.

As it turned out, the theft had been committed by the victim’s grandson. 23-year-old man lives with the grandmother, because he is an orphan – without father and mother.But instead of helping and taking care of an elderly woman, he decided to live at her expense.

According to the retiree, first he began to take metal objects from the house: aluminum drums, cans, angles, coils of wire, a set of chairs with a table and so on. First, the old woman asked the grandson to get a job and help her run the house, instead of taking valuables from the house. However, the young man, who had already had a criminal record, did not listen to the old woman, and continued doing his illegal business, – Natalia Mashiko, Mukachevo City Police said.

Thus, by fraud, under the pretext adding money to the grandmother’s cell phone account, he withdrew from her credit card the money in the amount of 3,000 UAH. After a while, when the old woman saw the balance of her account, she appealed to the city police department. Law enforcement officers quickly found the suspect. It was the grandson of the woman.

The 23-year-old man did not deny his guilt. However, he had already spent his grandmother’s money. 

Currently, investigators of the city police department opened criminal proceeding over this incident on the grounds of Part 1 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Fraud." Pre-trial investigation continues.
