Vashchuk expects Pogorelov to fulfill his promise

As we have already reported, the management of UzhNU plan to give a new look to three museums - the university museum, the archaeological museum and the historical books museum. So, asked the UzhNU rector about Zoological Museum, which has great tourism potential and has unique collections.

Fedir Vashchuk acknowledged that the museum's funds are really impressive. The collection of owls is the largest in Europe, and among other collections there are species of animals which are now extinct. However, there are problems with the museum, and although the need to move it to a better premises has long been discussed, it's hard to do. The rector said that old metal cabinets are non-transportable, and some collections are stored in such a way that they can be lost during transportation. Vashchuk said that he was waiting for the Mayor to fulfill his promise. According to him, Victor Pogorelov promised that they would provide a place for the Zoological Museum during the renovation of the "Owl's Nest", for which the city together with Polish partners won a major grant from the European Union. "I think that the Mayor is a kind of person who fulfills his promises, we are waiting for the answer, I hope that he will not fail us," - Vashchuk said, explaining why any activities to renovate the Zoological Museum have been suspended.
