Uzhgorod will be celebrating its birthday for three days, in neighborhoods and with decorated minibuses

On the last Friday, Saturday and Sunday of September, Uzhgorod will be celebrating the Day of the City, namely its 1120th anniversary.

The preparation to the celebration of the 1120th anniversary of the city on Uzh has already begun, and in the City Council there was a meeting on preparations for the anniversary date – the newspaper "Uzhgorod" informed.

The "Uzhgorod" reports: on the occasion of the Day of the City, the public transport will also be decorated: carriers will be ordered to decorate their buses. As for cooperation with other countries, according to the head of the International Cooperation and European Integration Department Victoria Tarakhonych, invitations to the celebration have been sent to 14 delegations, "foreign visitors will receive gift books about our city and big cakes with symbols of the 1120th anniversary of Uzhgorod."

City officials asked NGOs to submit to the municipality their proposals for holding events and campaigns. "We will take a look at your ideas and, if they prove to be interesting, definitely support them", – the Mayor concluded. Also, public organizations were offered to nominate candidates to be honored on the occasion of the Day of the City. Nominations should be submitted to the City Council.

The municipal newspaper informs that traffic police have also received the tasks (to strengthen the enforcement of traffic rules during the holidays and to ensure restrictions of the traffic at the locations where events will take place) and the municipal police were odered to "keep abreast".
