Transcarpathia celebrates the Independence Day
On Friday, August 23, in the lobby of the Regional State Administration building there were the celebrations to mark the Day of Independence of Ukraine and of the State Flag of Ukraine. The celebration was attended by deputies of Ukraine, deputy heads of the region, heads of law enforcement and regulatory authorities, regional agencies and departments, residents of the region.
These days, the region celebrates two great holidays - the Flag Day and the 22nd anniversary of Independence of Ukraine.
The solemn assembly, traditionally, was opened with the National anthem of Ukraine performed by eminent Transcarpathian choir "Cantus".
On the occasion of the holiday, Transcarpathians were awarded with national and regional honors. The diploma of Regional State Administration was awarded to Vasyl Ahiy, Ivan Hryha, Dmytro Madi, Mariya Puskás and Yaroslav Cheremisky.
The gratitude of Governor was announced to Attila Hehedyush, Volodymyr Duran, Heorhiy Marinya, Yaroslav Svitlynets and Volodymyr Senkovych.
The order "For Merit" of the third degree was awarded to Volodymyr Roshko. Also the honorary title "Honored Doctor of Ukraine" was assigned to Mahdalyna Remenyak. Mariya Plyska-Halatyba was awarded with the honorary title "Honored Forester of Ukraine."
Vasyl Vovkanych, Anton Zelinsky, Vasyl Fazykosh and Roman Shnitser received the highest regional award - "For the development of the region".
The celebration continued at one of the city's main squares - Narodna Sq. in front of building of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
