The traffic police and banks consulted on payment of fines
Today at the Traffic Police Office of Transcarpathia, there was a meeting with representatives of banks on the amendments to the laws on the procedure for payment of penalties for violation of traffic rules and their automatic registration upon the receipt of such funds.
According to the Acting Head of the Traffic Police Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuri Veykay: "these innovations are extremely important for vehicle owners as they facilitate the simplification of the procedure from the date of payment of the fine to any registration operation at the traffic police to avoid confusion with traffic police inspectors on the line. Previously, if a person had paid a fine, but not brought the receipt to the department of the traffic police, the penalty was considered unpaid, the information about it was automatically sent to the bailiffs' service, who in turn imposed seizure of a vehicle or other property. A traffic police inspector, having found out that a car was to be seized, could have taken the car to the impound lot, and it would become a real surprise for the driver. The same situation could have arisen during the sale of a car and other operations."
From now on everything is much easier, provided a bank clerk fills in the receipt of fine payment with all the details specified correctly. If the line "purpose of payment" is filled in correctly, the National automated information system automatically registers the payment and, therefore, the information on the payment of a fine will go to the police immediately.
The head of Finance and Economics Department of the Traffic Police Office Mariya Misyaylo addressed to representatives of banks with a proposal to make changes to the software of the banks in order to prevent mistakes when filling the receipts. Representatives of banks in turn suggested that citizens who pay the fine should bring a copy of the administrative protocol. Then a clerk could accurately indicate the number and series of the protocol.
