Prosecutor supervises the case of illegal immigrants

The Prosecutor's Office of Transcarpathian region controls the course of pre-trial investigation under the criminal proceedings initiated on the grounds of an offense under Part 2 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal trafficking of persons across the state border of Ukraine committed against several persons and by a group of persons upon their prior conspiracy.

 Currently, it has been established that on the night of 12 to 13 of August, a resident of Lviv, by prior agreement with the three Transcarpathians, brought from Liviv to the territory of one of the villages in Volovets district 7 foreigners (5 citizens of Afghanistan, one citizen of Eritrea and 1 citizen of Iraq) with the intention to smuggle them across Ukrainian-Slovakian border.

After that, Transcarpathians on another vehicle transported them to a nearby village of the district, where they were detained by officers of the Security Service Ukraine in Transcarpathian region.

 August 13, the investigation department of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region registered the details of the said fact in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations and initiated the pre-trial investigation into the criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
