Odesa artist paints colors "burnt" by the sun (PHOTOS)
August 15, in the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, the jubilee retrospective exhibition of paintings by a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Spiridon Pavlenko titled "Melody of Life" opened.
Spiridon Pavlenko was born in Odesa, in May 1953. For 10 years (from 1983 to 1999), he worked in the art fund there. In 1988, Spiridon Pavlenko began to participate in group exhibitions and since then he devoted all his life to painting. During the 20 years of cooperation with the artists of our region, he managed to organize more than a dozen plein airs in the mountains of Transcarpathia and on the Black Sea, the first of which was held in spring 2003 in the village of Soimy in Mizhhirya district.
The exhibition, which opened in Uzhgorod, presents about 30 paintings, including still lifes and landscapes that Spiridon Pavlenko likes to paint the most.At the exhibition you will not see any portraits or self-portraits, except for an abstract picture similar to human image ("Pain").
The Head of the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration of Yuri Hleba said at the opening that Transcarpathians are not accustomed to the color range of Spiridon Pavlenko, and this maked his works interesting.
The Head of the Transcarpathian National Union of Artists of Ukraine Boris Kuzma said, "Spiridon's works reflect Odesa, its colors "burnt" by bright sun...".
Actually, it is better to see once, so you have time to visit the exhibition until the end of summer.
