Putting foreign objects on the tracks is one of the most dangerous violations that are committed by citizens. The presence of a foreign object on the tracks may cause the fault of locomotive or lead to tragic consequences.
Such a case, but fortunately without casualties, occurred at the rail crossing "Uzhgorod-Domanyntsi". The machinist of a freight train saw the stones on the track and engaged emergency break which prevented an accident.
The incident was registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations.
Thankfully, the professionalism of machinists allowed to avoid the tragedy.
Due to regular preventive work of officers of the Police Department at Lviv railway, aimed at preventing such facts, since the beginning of the year three cases of the presence of foreign objects on the railway tracks have been detected.
There have been no casualties, damage to the track and rail transport – the Public Relations Division of the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at Lviv railway reported.
