August 23 at 13.00, in Uzhgorod remand prison there was the event dedicated to the anniversary of Independence of Ukraine, which was organized and conducted by the staff of the Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Fedir Potushnyak.

The librarians applied a creative approach to the event which, by the way, was held not for the first time. Workers of the library reading room prepared not only insight into the history of Ukraine, but also compiled a collection of poems and quotes from Ukrainian literature.

Also librarians with detainees and their relatives and friends attended the Liturgy in the chapel, located in the jail.

After the Divine Liturgy, in the hall employees of the library Yevheniya Napuda, Larysa Philip and Anastasia Bihan had an interesting history quiz that included questions not only on the history of Ukraine, but also on geography, culture and events of the modern Ukraine. It should be noted that during the quiz, the participants were active and excited. Winners were awarded with prizes.
