Applicants filed the record number of applications to Uzhgorod University

A record number of applications - 18,500 - have been filed this year by entrants to the the largest university of the region. The last entrant brought documents to the Admissions Office ten minutes before the deadline.  
This year's admission campaign had its own characteristics, innovations and advantages. The geography of entrants to UzhNU has greatly expanded, the activity has increased, and new opportunities have appeared - a double degree program, new specialties, reduced tuition fees. 
Out of 18,500 applications, almost 3,500 were registered on-line. The registration took place on time and without problems. "This year, there was no technical problems during the registration. Everything worked, information was updated" - Olena Melnik, the Executive Secretary of the admissions committee confirmed. 
In general, the competition for state-funded study in UzhNU is 7.8 persons per one seat. The most popular specialty among students is "Medicine." There, they have filed 976 applications only for full-time study. 
"The "Law" received 901 applications for full-time study. Other popular majors are "Biology", "English Language and Literature", "Tourism", "Pharmacy" and "Dentistry" - they have the most applications for full-time study.  It should be borne in mind that each applicant is entitled to apply for three majors," - Olena Melnik said.
