The way of the cross will go through Transcarpathia
7-8 of May in Mukachevo diocese there will be the nationwide procession which began with the blessing of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine.
The procession with the part of the Venerable Wood of the Life-Creating Cross of the Lord and the relics of Saints Emperor Constantine and his mother Queen Helena is dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan.
According to the Edict, all religions of the Roman Empire became equal in rights. Since then, the paganism lost its status of official religion, and Christianity was free to be practiced by all believers. With the Edict of 313, Emperor Constantine ended the persecution of the Church of Christ, and eventually Christianity became the state religion.
Ukrainian procession takes place from February 13 to June 3, 2013 through all the dioceses of Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Everyone will have the opportunity to worship the Christian shrines.
