Kyiv police officers detained in Transcarpathian region a 24-year-old former employee of a Kyiv bank suspected of withdrawing 8.4 million hryvnias from the accounts of depositors, while trying to flee abroad.
This is stated in the report of the press service of the Holosiyivsky district prosecutor in Kyiv.
The press service informed Ukrainski Novyny that the suspect was arrested on April 23 in the border area near Uzhgorod, but they refused to specify the name of the bank.
It was established that the bank manager, using the free access to the banking system, over two days had withdrawn the said amount from bank accounts.
Then, hiding from the investigation, the man tried to flee abroad with false documents, but was arrested in the border area.
Upon the arrest, the police seized from him one million hryvnias.

Currently, prosecutors of the Holosiyivsky district submitted to court the motion to put the detainee in custody as a preventive measure.
