Transcarpathia is preparing for the summer tourist season. For that reason, at the Chop border guard detachment there was the meeting where they discussed issues concerning the arrangement of crossing points. According to the First Deputy Head of the Chop border guard detachment - Chief of Staff Colonel Victor Potetenin, the greatest load on crossing points is in the period from May to September. During this time the number of vehicles and persons crossing the border almost doubles.
"The border guards together with employees of other relevant agencies have inspected every checkpoint, - Viktor Potetenin said. - But the most urgent issue is the poor state of road surface and public toilets, lack of garbage containers and adequate parking spaces."
