The repaired Mukachivska street in Uzhgorod has a mysterious swamp strip (PHOTOS)

After the overhaul, Mukachivska though looks much better, but still has not become a normal street. Let’s start with the positive. For drivers, it has certainly much improved – now it is a smooth lane, which one can drive quite safely, without fear of smashing the car into holes.

Now to the negative. That is to sidewalks. As you know, they have to be fixed up by entrepreneurs who work on this street. Some had already laid tile near their premises. And now they either do not want to remove it, or simply do not care about what mayor wanted. The sidewalk looks like this: a little of asphalt, a little of dirty soil, a little of tiles and so on. But perhaps this is only temporary, and when all businesses pay for the laying of asphalt, the sidewalk will be uniform and normal.

But even more negative the situation is with the strips of about 2-2.5 meters width between the sidewalk and the motor strip. It seems, no one even thought of fixing up this area. Therefore, it is a very untidy part of the road – all dug up and dirty. Moreover, since the lane and sidewalk are located at a higher level, during the rain all the water is accumulated in this area. So we will have another – after the overhaul (!) – swamp in the middle of the city.

So the repair of Mukachivska street has once again confirmed that Uzhgorod is the city for drivers, but not for pedestrians.

On behalf all of pedestrians I thank the Mayor and the road workers!
