More than 500 vascular surgeons came to Uzhgorod

Today in Uzhhorod the IV International Congress of Angiologists and Vascular Surgeons starts. On this occasion the President of the Association of Surgeons of Transcarpathia, Chairman of Surgical Diseases Department of UzhNU - Vasyl Rusin, chief of the Department of Health of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration - Roman Shnitser and dean of the medical faculty of UzhNU - Oleksandr Boldizhar held the meeting with journalists in Uzhgorod Press Club.

Uzhgorod is chosen as the location of Congress because new practices in vascular surgery were introduced here. Uzhgorod surgeons were first to do complex operations on all types of vessels, ranging from large veins and arteries to micro-capillaries.

"On the basis of our vascular center specialists perform advanced surgeries on everything: carotid arteries, vertebral arteries, descending aortas and aneurysms, mesentery arteries, hepatic and gastric arteries. We achieved those segments, which until recently we could only dream of" - Vasyl Rusin said.

All these new technologies and techniques were mastered by Transcarpathian surgeons after training in New York and Moscow. Now they are sharing their skills with other physicians of the country.   "Health sphere can not develop without science. Science allows for creative takeoff. Only because of a combination of practice and science we remain leaders in vascular surgery".

Most importantly, all studies are applied in educational practice.

Transcarpathian surgeons offer their colleagues new methods of preservation of limbs. "We offer a completely new method of treatment. When other surgeons give up, we give a chance of recovery" - Vasyl Rusin said. 500 guests of this congress will be able to hear reports on the advanced technology of Uzhgorod doctors.
