Transcarpathian rescuers are getting ready for the winter season (PHOTOS)
The winter has not yet come to Transcarpathia, but Transcarpathian rescuers have already started to prepare for the new ski season - reported the Office of MOE in Transcarpathian region. 10-12 October, rescuers of the mountain search and rescue squad of the Emergency and Rescue unit of the Territorial Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies in Transcarpathian region held special training to improve their skills and practice joint actions to rescue tourists in possible emergency situations.
The training was held on the Krasiya mountain in the village of Vyshka in Velyky Berezny district.
During the exercise each lifeguard had to get to the lift hanging at 20-meter height and using special equipment to get the "victim" down.
Such drills in our mountainous region are held regularly to minimize possible accidents during the recreational activities of people in the mountains. Today, there are about 40 ski lifts in the region. And the subject of such training was not chosen randomly, since the last year, mountain rescuers three times rescued people that hung in the air after emergency stops of the lifts. One of the emergency stops last winter was on Krasiya.
