Transcarpathian environmentalists brought to justice 43 people

State Ecological Inspectorate in Transcarpathian region conducted the verification of compliance with environmental legislation by the SE "Mokryanske LMH" and the Carpathian Biosphere Reservation.
During the inspections the following violations of the Forest Code of Ukraine were revealed: illegal felling of trees to the degree of suppression of growth, damage to forest crops, poor and delayed cleanup of forest residues, failing to remove the wood out of the forest within a stipulated period.
44 reports regarding the violations have been written, administrative proceedings against 43 people have been instituted with the amount of fines equal to 4199 UAH, which has been voluntarily recovered in full. One report has been forwarded to judicial authorities to take appropriate measures.
As a result of the state control measures, state inspectors calculated the losses caused to forest resources and put forward claims for their voluntary reparation totaling 15,540.10 UAH.
In case of failure of voluntary reparation State Ecological Inspectorate will file to the Commercial Court of Transcarpathia a petition for forcible recovery of damages, – informed the State Ecological Inspectorate in Transcarpathian region.
