State Automobile Inspectorate intends to install on the road devices which record violations of speed limit by vehicles.

This was announced today at the briefing in Kyiv by the acting head of the Office of State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Reznikov.

"I am confident that by the end of the year, and possibly even sooner we will start to move away from using devices that record speed, but do not have photo and video recording functions such as "Berkut", "Iskra", "Radis", and will be using devices that have such functions, namely device "Harpoon" or device "Vizier" - said V.Reznikov.

He also noted that the new equipment will be used primarily in areas where most accidents occur. The devices will be installed in special "antivandal" boxes.

According to him, today antivandal boxes are being installed so far only in Kyiv and Kyiv region, but later they will cover all major highways and routes of Ukraine.
