The observance and protection of children's rights was discussed in Uzhgorod

On Monday, October 8, the meeting on the state of children's rights protection was held in the region.
To prevent juvenile delinquency in the region, the raids with the participation of the personnel of children services and law enforcement officers are conducted. In particular, they inspect places where there is suspicion of selling alcohol to minors, work with dysfunctional families.
The rate of specific gravity of crimes committed by juveniles has increased from 7.8% (2011) to 9.2% (2012). However, this figure should not be associated with an increase in juvenile crimes, - said the meeting participants.
In the first half of this year, a decrease in the total number of crimes committed in the region was observed. Number of illegal acts committed by juveniles remains constant, but the number of crimes committed by adult population of the region declined. Accordingly, the proportion of crimes committed by children has slightly increased.
However, as participants noted, children from disadvantaged families rarely commit crimes. Instead, there are cases where minor children, whose parents have gone abroad to work, follow the criminal path - reported the press center of RSA.
