The Head of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine in Uzhgorod remand prison was greeted with bread and salt (PHOTOS)
The Head of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Lisitskov visited Uzhgorod Remand Prison.
The visit was part of routine series of visits to Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions prisons.
According to Oleksandr Lisitskov, the main purpose of the trip is to check the readiness of institutions for the winter and get acquainted with the living conditions of prisoners and those under investigation. The head of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine also informed that currently the concept of reform of the service is being developed, which aims not only to improve the living conditions and medical care of prisoners, but also to prepare them for release, to provide opportunities to receive education and profession.
Also Oleksandr Lisitskov in Uzhgorod penal institution number 9 examined the cells and visited minors who are under investigation (they just had a lesson) and gave them a ball as a gift.
