Telephone scammers tricked a female resident of Transcarpathia out of 3000 UAH

A trusting resident of V.Berezny became another victim of phone scam - reported the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region.

Last weekend she received a call on her cell phone. The caller was hidden, but it did not alarm the woman. The male voice told the woman that her son had been detained by the police, but if the mother paid the money in the amount of three thousand hryvnias, the case would be settled and her son would be released ...

The woman transferred the money through a bank branch to the specified bank account number. And then it turned out that the 29-year-old son of the deceived woman was not detained, but was working in Moscow ...

Having realized that she had been tricked, the victim filed a statement with the police. The scammer is wanted, though it would be difficult to find him, scince the police have neither phone number nor bank account number, which the woman hastily forgot to record ...

The police warn the citizens: do not believe anyone and do not transfer money whatever you could be told. It is better to immediately contact the person in question and ask where he or she is and whether he or she is all right. And all such cases should be immediately reported to the police.
