Telephone conversations rose by 10%

This is the second increase of tariffs for fixed line services in this year. Justification of tariff increases remains the same – the tariffs are below the cost of services.

From today, talking on the house phone will cost Ukrainians 10% more. On November 1, the second phase of the increase of the price for use of landlines becomes effective, which was approved by the National Commission for Carrying out State Regulation in the Field of Communication and Information back in June.

According to the regulation, in the countryside household tariffs for the use of basic telephone sets shall be increased by 10% – from 14.88 to 16.38 UAH without hourly rates, and from 13.02 to 14.32 UAH with hourly rates (without VAT).

The previous 10% increase was in July 1.

As reported, the initiative to raise tariffs by 10% has been made by the largest fixed-line operator "Ukrtelecom", which was privatized in 2011 and then achieved the first tariff increase.
