Resident of Ternopil has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for smuggling cocaine and marijuana

The sentence of the Uzhgorod district court against the 29-year resident of Ternopil, who in 2011 carried drugs across the Hungarian-Ukrainian border, has entered into force.
It was found out that during the visit to his mother in Austria this citizen of Ukraine purchased cocaine and especially dangerous narcotic – cannabis (marijuana) for his own consumption. 
In November last year, resident of Ternopil, returning to Ukraine with his mother by their own car, decided to carry across the customs border the purchased drugs: 0.0522 g of cocaine and 2.2262 g of particularly dangerous drugs – cannabis (marijuana).  
 
November 10, 2011 at the customs post "Tisa" of the Chop Customs officers found the "stash". 
Investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region opened a criminal case against the citizen of Ukraine under Part 1, 2 of Art.305 (smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors or counterfeit drugs) and Part 1 of Art.309 (illegal acquisition storage, transportation or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues without intent to sell) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Uzhgorod City Court found the Ternopil resident guilty and sentenced him to a 5 years imprisonment with probation period of 3 years – press service of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region.
