Mukachevo border guards detained a car "packed" with cigarettes

Recently border guards of "Dilove" unit of Mukachevo border guard detachment stopped an attempt to illegally carry a batch of tobacco across the border.

The illegal activity at the Ukrainian-Romanian border was reported to border guards by locals. They noticed that a car stopped near the river Tisa, and the driver started to unload packages from the cabin. After a few minutes the "Border Patrol" that arrived to that place, detained the driver without documents, as well as 12 boxes of cigarettes with Ukrainian tax stamps. The border guards reported the detention to Chop customs and traffic police.

In addition, the detained man who called himself a citizen of Ukraine, resident of a village in Rakhiv district during the detention had signs of alcohol intoxication. After medical examination conducted in Rakhiv CRH, the fact of alcohol intoxication was confirmed.
As a result, Rakhiv District Court decided to bring the offender to administrative responsibility in the form of two (2) days of administrative arrest. And the cigarettes estimated at 45,000 hryvnias and the car AUDI A6 Allroad Quattro (2001 year) estimated at 110,383 hryvnias have been seized until the court decision - informed the press service of the Chop border guard detachment.
