"Lexus" for 700 thousand hryvnias was stopped at the Ukrainian-Romanian border

Tonight at the customs post "Dyakovo" the violation of customs legislation was detected.
A 46-year-old Russian citizen returning from Romania, during the customs control submitted to inspectors a certificate of registration for the vehicle and confirmation of the right to use, issued by Russian notary's office.
However Chop customs officers decided to check the authenticity of documents issued by the notary. After the more detailed inspection of the vehicle, customs officers with the expert found out that the serial number of the body had been altered and other numbers that do not meet the documents had been put.
According to the Russian, he was driving the brand new foreign car, which had run only 9000 km, to the director of the company, where he works, for personal purposes.
Thus, customs officers have written a protocol on the driver for violation of customs regulations, and the "Lexus" has been seized until the decision of court.
Further, the case file will be forwarded to Interpol to establish the involvement of the foreigner to misappropriation of this prestigious foreign car.
