In Vynogradiv district the polling stations will be equipped with video surveillance system
Webcams are the new feature of parliamentary elections to be held on October 28. In Vynogradiv district the project for installation of a video surveillance system at the polling stations has been completed. According to the technical requirements, the system will cover more than 32 thousand PECs throughout Ukraine. Each polling station will be equipped with software and hardware system, consisting of a laptop, two high resolution webcams, necessary peripherals and means of communication. "Ukrtelecom" JSC is the general contractor for installation of webcams in polling stations for the parliamentary elections in autumn 2012.
Vyacheslav Kanalosh - Head of Vynogradiv telecommunication service center number 3 of the Transcarpathian branch of "Ukrtelecom" JSC:
- In addition to the required provision of telephone communcation at polling stations, these days we have completed a new task. This the installation of video surveillance systems where it was technically possible and where the equipment for broadband internet connection via Ukrtelecom was available. One camera records the work of the election commission members, the other is set to capture ballot box and thus record voting of each voter. Thus in Vynogradiv district 15 polling stations are equipped with video surveillance systems: 10 of them are located in Vinogradov, 3 - in the village of Korolevo, one in the village of Cherna and one in the village of Khyzha.
So, the video surveillance system that would enable to monitor the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on-line in any country in the world, was officially launched in Vynogradiv.
