In Transcarpathia cigarette smugglers were stopped only with warning shots

Before the weekend, officers of the Western Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service detained two lots of tobacco products. 

Border guard unit "Velyky Berezny" of Chop detachment noticed near the border four unknown persons who were heading towards Slovakia. They did not respond to the guards' request to stop. So, catching them, the officers had to make warning shots in the air. All detainees were citizens of Ukraine. With them they carried 15 boxes of cigarettes, which together with the materials on the fact of detention were submitted to Customs office. This was reported be the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Another offender on the car "Skoda" was stopped three hundred meters from the border by border guards of the "Dyakovo" unit of Mukachevo detachment together with employees of the MIA. The driver, a citizen of Ukraine, was carrying 13 boxes of cigarettes without excise stamps.
